I have invested 18 years in public education, 7 years in band directing and 11 years in educational leadership. I began my teaching career as a band director in Kosciusko, Mississippi, where I was the junior high band director and assisted with the high school band program. I spent the next seven years working in school administration with the Starkville School District in Starkville, Mississippi where I was an assistant principal at the elementary and junior high campuses. The last four years, I have served as an assistant principal for Magnolia ISD with Nichols Sawmill Elementary (2015-2018) and Bear Branch Intermediate (2018-2019).
My wife, Brittany, is an eighth grade English teacher at MJH. We have one son, Nic, who will be a second grader at Bear Branch Elementary. We have a daughter, Molly Grace, who is 18 months old. I love reading books on leadership and historical fiction. I enjoy playing bass guitar with the "Charlie Riley Band." I am a huge fan of college sports.
I am honored and humbled to work with GREAT people who have shown me what it takes to be a successful leader. What is so incredible about this position is that I get to work alongside educators who really showcase their strengths in preparing students for the next grade level. Learning how to leverage those strengths so that we can achieve our school's vision is what makes leadership worthwhile and engaging. I am excited about serving as Principal for Bear Branch Elementary
One of my favorite sayings to teachers and students is "Let's go to work!"
